I agree the steering wheel controls etc remain but I dont see that the blustooth does as it is inside the radio unit as far as I can see.

I will pull my radio later and see if bluetooth disappears

maybe the adaptor/harness just retains the steering wheel controls and the mic then?
either way, the Pioneer unit requires it's own mic and loses the Bluetooth buttons on the wheel.

Sounds like a challenge to me :)

Microphone looks simple based on the Jimny circuit diagram.

Not sure what you are referring to with the "Bluetooth" controls on the steering wheel, do you mean the handsfree switch control?

Someone once posted a picture of the connections on the back of the Gen4 radio/nav with the connections identified/marked up.

I cannot find it, can someone re-link or re-post?

Did you mean this one Martin, or an actual pin diagram of the main block connectors?

The Green socket is for the reversing camera and the White socket (next to DAB) is for Aux Audio Input.

The PHONE LINK  is the one that's not compatible with the Pioneer, despite having an adaptor, it doesn't work.
@Gadget instructions were spot on, very helpful. But not with Pioneer for some reason, every other manufacture you will be fine, unless you hardwire the phone and fit the supplied mic.

As expected it fully electrically works (of course all the steering controls work as its a Suzuki unit in a Suzuki)

As you can see the bezel is different on a per car type basis (Ignis. Vitara etc.). Therefore I had already anticipated getting a correct bezel. The interesting issue that I had not forseen is that the glass touch screen is NOT FIXED to the radio! It is "trapped" fitted between the bezel and the radio body. Therefore any new bezel has to trap the glass securely in the correct position.

I have a aftermarket Dual DIN bezel on its way and will have to see if it traps the glass correctly, I suspect it will not and will have to be "fettled" to fit, might need to find a friend with a 3D printer to create retainers to hold the glass in place (or carefully hacksaw the Ignis frame)

I've been having issues getting my phone (OPPO Reno 4 Pro) to connect to my head unit to use Android Auto.
A friend of mine has a 2019 Swift SZ4 which he bought an SZ5 head unit off ebay for. He updated the firmware to the latest version and passed the USB stick on to me to update my head unit with.
Both units are running 1880_190821.
My phone will connect with his head unit but not with mine??
The only difference I can see is the front bezels and the model numbers (mine is a 39920-78RG3)
We can't work out why my head unit doesn't connect to my phone.
