I followed it and saw the electronic gizmo's working the ABS to help it over some of the more challenging bits. They work......
The drivers inexperience off road was probably a plus, you have to surrender a lot of instinctive driving to the computers. He just drove it and it championed some climbs that would make anybody grimace.
I drove a small section and it's a very nice place to be, the car felt solid and comfortable. It happily lifted a wheel and gizmo applied the ABS, that gave the grounded wheel traction and off she went.
I can't see many new car owners doing Gatescarth type lanes but if I had one, I wouldn't think twice.
A small lift, some slightly bigger, nobbly tyres and a Quaife ATB to compliment the gizmo and I think it would go anywhere but the most extreme of lanes.
It did pick up damage to a couple of radius arm mounts.....
