Ready for a Jimny!!! was created by eddlane
Hi All!
I posted in another thread about thinking about a Jimny to replace my rapidly wearing out van. Well, I was saving the funds and nursing the van but the van went BANG! So a loan was taken and the Jimmy search begins. Just a few super newbie questions (I have read the wiki guides and the sticky threads and a whole load of forum posts) I'm asking these questions to see if I can get some up to date answers that may be useful for other buyers, so:
Sorry for all the newbie stuff and going over old topics, mostly these questions are to answer the questions my wife is asking me.....
Basically, I'm looking for making a bit of a hybrid between a road jimny and an awesome off road Jimny,
Any help appreciated!!!
Cheers gang.
Edd

- Road tax? How much per 6 months/year?
- How many miles do you get from your tank and how much is said tank? (I don't work in MPG haha)
- How quick and easy is it to pop back seats up and down or in and out?
- How do i know which one's have the more reliable gearbox? Is it the ones that are older and pre VVT?

Hi .
Range is between 200 and 350 miles on 40 litres of petrol depending on what modifications and how hard it's being driven.
Weakest boxes are between 2005 and 2009 ish but many are now either fixed or replaced but asking for documented evidence from a seller is sensible.
Seats don't fold flat but with experience can be removed in under half an hour or so.

Perfect, thank you, that's really useful.
Just trying to find one to go look at that isn't hundreds of miles from where I live....

Dunno for car's as mine is taxed as a commercial. Think it's about 2 or 3 hundred quid a year.
