Think my 2003 Jimny is around £250 a year to tax.

01-05 has more reliable gearbox. But as they're getting on a bit now it seems hard to find a solid one. As Lambert says above, places on body that seem to go first are boot floor (especially under the jack) and behind the headlights.

Seats are simple to fold down. Suzuki sell a load liner to go in the boot and over the folded seats, they come up 2nd hand every now and then. Or if you didn't need the rear seats then they're easy to remove.

The one you've linked above is fairly strong money in my opinion. But it must be one of the last ones before they went to VVT and later gearbox. Which I think is a positive. MOT history on it looks good and mileage seems to match up with the MOTs. But you'll never know until you go and have a good look at it, get underneath and have a good tap around chassis and body mounts etc and go out for a decent test drive.

Ok brilliant thank you.

It’s unlikely to be that one I imagine, by the time I’ve got time to go see it it’ll be gone!

Thanks all,

I’m looking for one right now as I’m still driving my deadly van about and need one sharpish!

I’m looking at this but it seems pricey, any input welcomed I am a newbie!! I am right in thinking it would be one of the newer engines and gearboxes that have trouble? He’s the 2nd owner and both times it was bought from a Suzuki dealer.

I think I may like it because of the 2” lift and the tires...

How hard is it to lift them if I got one standard? 2” you can get away with without changing much else am I right?

I might be in a position to sell my Jimny in the next week or so, change in circumstances mean I need to reduce the fleet size :( :(

I will get some pictures later, but its a 2002 JLX special, 2" lift, steering damper, Jimny bits snorkel, 4 x 8 spoke steel wheels et-0 offset so slightly wider stance but not beyond the arches, 4 x Hankook MTs.

The car has only done around 4000mls since I bought it and the tyres have done slightly less. Just had it MOTd in July and passed with no advisories and the chaps at the garage commented on how good condition its in. Only done 56,000ish mls - will confirm later.

I'm hoping for £2500ono if it's of interest to you?

That does sound interesting, where are you based?

How is it service wise and gearbox/engine/cam belt? Any photos?

Cheers!

Also does that mean there’s no matching spare wheel/tyre?

Cheers
