Well the new Jimny now has new boots.
Nortehena mtk2 same tread pattern as BFG KM2.
Went for 205 70 15 and glad I didn't go any bigger.
Pretty quiet on road too.
standard jimny - for now

Its a second vehicle for use off road (and getting to and from) so any noise would have been irrelevant. Pleasantly surprised.
It was wet today and I trod very carefully. I had a set of insa saharas new on my jimny and took them off after a week. But clenchingly scary in the wet. I can feel a little more rolling resistance with the muds but thats to be expected.

I can't forsee any problems with rubbing.
And yes totally standard other than the tyres.
I'm really glad I stuck to 205's the gearing is still very good.

New to this but how or why would say 215 tyres affect the gearing?

You might ride better over some potholes and you will get a slightly higher top speed. I just fitted that size to my Junior - 215 75 15 mainly to get a little better ground clearance. I like the look too. Acceleration in this type of motor is not a requirement for me but a long legged ability helps.
I have had 205s on it (and even 225x16 at one time). I knew the speedo was reading a somewhat slow and now the speedo is just about dead right with these.
