If one were to order new plastics from the dealer and specify that they be not painted, what colour are they?

Depends on which plastics you order, some have an extension to the part number that determines the colour you get

If you look at the catalog here you can see all the colours you can choose from. The three last digits on the part number is the colour code of the vehicle. If you buy the ones with 0DG in the end, its Midnight Black, and if I remember correct thats pure black no metallics.

Double hmmmm. Ideally I'd want totally unpainted all the way round assuming that the base plastic is as near black as reasonable. Just my silver gray ones are looking decidedly scruffy, paint being ok on a town car but less so on a working car that gets eaten by sheep, cleaned with brambles and generally scratched by something almost every day. And yes I have considered external bed liner but it's a bit too red neck even for me.
