Suspension lift, which shall I choose?

Hi All,

Right so its time for a suspension lift.

Decided I'm going to go with a 2 inch lift as its still my daily driver.

What lifts do people have and recommend? Like the look of the trail master lift but a bit pricey. AVO lift also looks good, but concerned a bit that I wouldn't stopped fiddling with shocks or they'd get jammed up in mud.

Would appreciate peoples thoughts and experiences.

Get the best you can afford. But I can only recommend you get a suspension kit that's tailor made to the Jimmy. Like OME, trail master, tough dog etc.

Perhaps save up a bit more money so you can afford one of these kits

I would go for the trailmaster kit have you looked in the big jimny shop it's a good price there
I have a 3" kit it feels good on the road and handles the bends and bumps really well, but I haven't been off road at the moment so can't comment on the off road ability will be putting them through there paces soon

After a while you'll suss your best settings and stop fiddling
Mine are now set at front 10 / rear 11 which gives me a good road cornering / ride quality - for std weight jimny with mostly just me in.

Dave runs AVO's and I don't think there's anyone on here that does as many muddy offroad miles in a heavy weight truck, so see what he thinks

However, trailmaster = fit and forget, with the AVO's its wise to keep rotating the dials to keep them free every month or two, but it's not a major hassle.

And in terms of caster correction is it best you do front and rear trailing arms or just front?

Havent tried them offroad yet,
Last time offroad the smoke and smell from my clutch reminded me I couldnt risk treating my daily driver this way.
For green lanes, definitely drop the settings down ie 7/8 for softer less harsh ride
Not sure about serious offroad though as you may bottom out if too soft, maybe should go for harder settings.
Defo need input from Dave on this one.

You won't need to change the arms for a 2" lift, some people replace the bushes with castor corrected ones and some people say you don't need them it will be personal preference you will know yourself after you have done the lift

Edit: sorry I might have read that wrong if your just talking about the bushes just do the front

I like my 2 inch procomp kit- I bought it at the same time as new wheels/tires and I couldn't justify more money on the lift.

I'm very happy with it but it but if money wasn't an object I would have gone for the trailmaster.

I bought castor bushes but sold them on- it feels fine to me as it is!

I have the Trailmaster 2" comfort lift fitted handling has improved and no issues fitting all went together no problem

Looks brilliant Dexy, did you fit caster correction bushes? What's the kit like off road? Out of interest what size tyres are those?
