They are, but it all goes to pot when one arm is pointing down and one is pointing up- suddenly the axle is trying to twist against the bushes.
You can try it yourself by holding a broom handle out in front of you with both arms stretched. Hold the handle tight and move one arm down and the other up, as if your arms are the radius arms. The broom handle will try to twist in your hands. Then you'll see what's happening to these bushes when the axle flexes!

Ah yes, I see what you mean, I thought that you were talking about rotation rather than sideways twisting.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

I don't know if you guys have seen these arms but i believe they are a potential solution to your problem. Unfortunately I don't think they make them for Jimny's...

Yes that looks like the sort of thing! Simple enough too.

put them on and they're that deep they'd just dig into the middle of the track without oversize tyres, so defeating the purpose that you want them for, as you'd then need a lift to get the tyres under to get the ground clearance back!

I thought that, then noticed the track-rods on most of the vehicles they are fitted to run along the back of the axle, through the modified radius arms. Hence the strange shape and loss of clearance. I'm pretty sure you could achieve the same thing on a Jimny with very little loss of clearance.
