Test drove a 57plate with 27k miles & noticed a little transmission whine. Not there all the time & seemed to be 2nd or 3rd but cant really remember too well. Not sure if this could be a problem as its the first one I've driven.
Second question, how easy is it to damage the trnasmission etc by using 4wd on grippy surfaces?
cheers,
Martin.

if your coming from a car you will notice abit more transmission noise, mine whines abit under load. Sounds normal.
Quite easily, especially if your doing going round corners. if your planning to off road it, pretty much as long as your not on tarmac you could use 4wd.
If its going to be a winter hack, just use 4wd on snow/ice etc.

cheers,

However there was some wobble in the steering at 50mph ish. Normally I would assume this to be wheel balance but Ive heard of some horrors with "death wobble" on the Jimny.
Car would be sold with a warranty & has only 33k miles so surely little risk of bushes etc at that mileage? Most cars Ive driven cover 150k or more without any problems like that.
What do you guys think & is there anything I can do to check?
cheers,
martin.

Suzuki can be pretty poor but find a good one and unlikely you will have any problems other than wear n tear

They all do that Sir! (If the car has been through deep water or jetwashed round the swivels they go in less time than it takes to say "the kingpins are gone" )
Replacement is easy, but messy, although better to buy a car that doesn't wobble, as it can be caused by the wheels or worn parts elsewhere.
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

I was going to keep mine clean with a wipe round using WD40. Is it best to leave them well alone?
