Would need to book hotel for the saturday night but not sure where to book, i was hoping somebody on here had done the trip before so i could get this info.

One of the clubs I'm in was looking at planning the Coast to Coast last year but it never got off the ground. I really like the idea of it coz it takes in my three favourite laning areas - the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales and NY Moors. I don't know if anyone actually got round to plotting an overlay for it. I know the lanes in the Dales and NYM very well and know quite alot in the Lakes - I've got overlays of routes in all three - it's just a case of stringing them together which is a bit time consuming.

I think perhaps it would be best to plan as a three day route with two stop-overs.

I'll have a word with a few people and see if anyone's got the C2C plotted.

Fantastic Mick, any help on this would more than appriciated !
Also once the route is layed out, it could become an annual event. The only thing that would prevent 20 or 30 vehicles going would be the overnight stop over and having 'no room at the inn'.

Yeah, you can't run 20 or 30 trucks :pinch: 2 or 3 well-spaced groups of 5 would be ok.

Would be best done as a camping trip.

Yeah yeah ok, so my exageration on numbers was unfortunate! The point was ment to highlight the fact that there would not be enough beds for everyone, even with 10 vehicles, 2 people in each is 20 beds would be too many me thinks. Now camping is a good idea but bugger me it'll be cold, but a good crack all the same!
Need to get some numbers of people interested so we can take it further, after all if only 3 /4 vehicles are interested, then a b&b/ hotel is feasable.

Hi Mart, never continuously but have walked most of the pedestrian route in biggish stretches and have spent my life split between living in the North east and York visiting the N Yorks Moors and Dales and last 20 odd years in the northern Lake district so we have a decent grasp of geograph
