The ebay item id given is invalid, no result has been sentHas anyone had any experience with this tirfor type winch, it's from goodwinch. Thanks 'darthloachie' for putting me onto the website. I am looking at the size 2 winch-2.5 tonnes. Can anyone tell me at experiences you have had. The link is below. Under hand winches

Tirfor will pretty much drag you out of anything slow but if you have drowned your engine electric winch wouldnt last long before your battery died.

Oh right, so that's were the tirfor winch is better as it doesn't relay on the cars battery?

Yes i was thinking about the hand operated version there is a hydraulic version available but i think that requires a mains supply ie 415v 3 phase to run the hydraulic pump guessing that would cost a fortune as well.
A good old hand version is very adaptable and are well tried and tested just needs man power to make it work lol

If you fancy a hand winch I have one in my garage I was going to put up for sale. never been used! Only want £35 for it.
Tirfor style sort of thing....

would have lost interest by now and either moved that huge Bolder from under the wheel or just set it on fire and walked home :lol:

i think they are fantastic idea to have in the back of the car, (i dont have one yet mind)

they are time consuming and tiering but in a situation where your winch has packed in or just dont have one, they can get you out of very sticky situations,
