I replaced my track rod ends last week and need my tracking doing now. Took it to kick fit, national tyres and formula tyres and non of them would do it, apparently the wheel size makes it impossible? Where does everyone get theirs done? I feel they were talking bullsh1t or is this true? I'm running 31" tyres with 30mm spacers. Thanks in advance :)

Best just to fit smaller tyres just to get the tracking done, they are also talking bullsh1t, this is coming from a GARAGE EQUIPMENT ENGINEER!.

I'm thinking of taking it to a private garage and getting it done the old way with gauges. They were also trying to tell me that I needed 4 wheel alinement and all my castor angles changing. Smaller tyres wouldn't be a bad idea if I had a spare set. Thanks for your reply

There fobbing you off cos the tracking is a pain in the butt due to having 4 adjustments i did mine the other week took me a good hour as it was so far out i kept having to take the bars off to adjust each joint on its own

4 wheel alinement is so the stearing wheel is set straight

you can get front and rear wheel tracking done seperate

I'd love to know how they will adjust your castor angles!

I've never seen a mechanic yet that knows how to correctly do wheel alignment. Or even lift a car on a 2 post lift correctly/safely
I'm not digging at you Mark! I'd bring my Jimny to you if you were local!

Thanks for all the replies guys :) took it to a local garage and they did it for 30 quid. Much better then it was, in that I can now just about do 35 without coming off the road :p got really bad death wobble! Not sure why though :(

who can I get to balance them? The place I took it to for tracking said 31" tyres won't fit in most tyre balancers. Should I take them to a lorry depot? Cheers
