Removing rear seats was created by Teds Jimny
Does anyone know if you can remove the standard rear seats out of a 2001 jimny? They fold down etc but I want to make it into a flatbed at the back, I'm having trouble finding bolts to undo?

Sure you can look under the front of the seats for the bolts. Then you can fit a piece of chequer plate in the back for a nice load area or wood if you want a cheaper option :)

Under the cover that goes around the seatbelt catches there are two bolts that go down through the seat hinge into the floor on the seatbelt side of the chair . Then on the other there's a stud that sticks out from the wheel arch, if you pull the seat foam to one side there's a nut that needs undoing from the end of the stud. Then there are two bolts under each seat base & the carpet just pops on with poppers!

Good luck :)

Can you buy these chequer plates per cut to fit a jimny? Or do you have to cut it yourself?

There are 4 bolts under the cover 2 for each seat and there is no need to undo the nut on the stud just unvelcro the lower outer corner of the back and undo the 12/14mm bolt remove seat back then remove the nut on the bracket

The plastic which fits over the seat belt anchor point is loose but I can't see a join in it to take the plastic off, or do I have to snap it off? :(
