Just a puzzler why does an sj / lobster transfer have a N selection on it ?

I think it's because there are t-boxes that are equipped with a PTO, and you might want to use it when the truck is stationary, so that's when the N comes in handy.

correct that man !
And also due to the design of the case the high and low gears on the output share the same selection dog gear so it has to go through neutral or it would just crunch.

Cheerz guys i can now sleep lol
I was not aware a pto was available on the sj , i take it it would have to run after the gearbox but before the t-box

The neutral also allows you to flat(i.e. with all 4 wheels on the ground) tow the vehicle.
The new Jimny's without neutral on the T-Case can't be flat towed.
