Hi
For rifle storage there is sufficient space behind the front seats , and below the level of the marine ply floor for a slip to rest safely across the width of the interior. None of my rifles are longer than 22" barrels and so the fit is good, using a standard short slip. I use the Country Covers slips. Obviously bolt and ammunition are kept with me should I ever have to leave the vehicle.
This is all part of the desire for discretion, tinted side and rear window panels to obscure the rubber neckers and no obvious signs of bambi or firearms visible..
I have in mind to install 2 x U bolts through the checker plate clad floor to enable the use of securicords for actual rifle security when away from my immediate ground. As it is, my deer stalking is normally very local to Home, and the firearm is almost never unattended.
The lift consists of a 2x 2 part marine pulley with 10mm dia nylon rope, and I use the door catch as a cleat, which is soon to be replaced with a jamming cleat at the top of the hoist; the top pulley is attached with a 1Te carabiner and shackle for ease of attachment. The gambrel and pulley live under the passenger seat.
Thanks for your interest.
Peter

That's a very tidy set up. I'm not offended - I like a bit of venison and I live in the country so I have some understanding of land management.

Just completed the lining to the rear cargo area:
Removed the plywood structure to use as a template for the bending and welding of the chequer plate.
Then replaced it all and installed the chequer plate box using rivet nuts 6mm on the sides, and bedded with Sikaflex polyurethane marine caulking mastic, very solid job.
Next move is to install the replacement steel bumpers which just arrived direct from the manufacturer in China.
and so it goes.......
