Hallo there !! -about these roof lights.
I'm getting a set for xmas ..
How did you go about wiring them in ?? how and where did you feed the wires through? - and do you have any extra tips?
Also.. if you've got a few spare minutes, could you take and upload a pic of two on the lights where you cut them? - what did you use?
Sorry to be a pain.
Thanks again !
LukeB.

wiring is really easy, they come with all thr connectors and switches inc relays.
I picked up a switched supply from the radio, and then a second supply from the battery to the relays.
There are connectors to allow you to connect the separate parts of the loom together very easily.
Fitting, I used about half a tube of black silicone to fill the gaps on the roof where the adhesive does not contact.
As for how you get the wiring into the vehicle, that is yoru decision.... I drilled a 10mm hole in the drivers side roof under the light unit and put the wires through before creating a water tight plug with loads of silicon.
Then I ran the wires under the headlining, and down the A pillar to behind the dash.
The switch unit I mounted using double sided sticky ./ velcro just below the rear screen heater, and ran the cable up and around the steering colmn.
One thing I did do too was clean teh roof, polish it with a good quality polish and then, using some strong thinners, I removed the polish and way to get a perfectly clean roof.
Mounting was a little bit of an issue because I wanted the pod back as far as the roof bars, so I had to trim a little off the light pod each side.
To do this, I created a template out fo cardboard (Used the box that came with it) and drew / cut around the base. Then, with the template, I put it on the roof and removed equal amounts of card board until it sat flush between the front roof bars....
Next was out with the light unit and then cut with a very sharp stanley knife so the base of the pod unit was the same shape as the cardboard template.
DONOT Remove the sticky tape at this stage because once its stuck ... Game over !!!
Next was to wire up the light pod and make sure the lights are shining straight ahead !... (its sounds obvious but the lights donot move sideways!)
Once happy, I made some reference points on the roof, then removed the protective tape and committed myself.
When stuck, I went around the whole thing with Black silicone, building up a good bead under the gaps. With a wet finger, I smoothed the excess off and left it to cure / dry.
Note, I did this before the weather changed. If you donot have a garage, its probably best to leave it until the weather gets better.
Im about to fly back out of the country, but when im back in the UK later in the week, Ill get some pictures taken and upload them

Because I trimmed the sides, the pod fits flush inside the roof rails. As the Pod is rigid, and the roof has a curve to it, the overhang was unavoidable, hence I used Black silicone to fill in the gaps and smooth the profile out.lukeyblunt wrote: Ahh yes ! Super. Thanks a bunch
