had my first day off road in mine.. took a rather more radical direction than you.. broke all but 2 of the plastic poppers holding on the bumper then decided to remove the other 2 when back at the parking so as I did not remove the thing and drive over it!..
Bumpers are way to low for off roading, chop them or lift the car.. :woohoo:

That look better now all you need is some ORA front towing points.

There are 2 M10 socket button heads holding the number plate on, i planned to replace them with M10 stainless A4 eye bolts and A4 shackle.
The ali plate is bolted to a 10mm steel plate in tern bolted direct to the front chassis....hoping that will be ok to get me out of trouble ?

Been doing a little research before i add recovery eye bolts......umm turns out they are nowhere near good enough, M10 only rated for 250kg!! no idea what the shear of an M8 bolt is that is holding the plate to the chassis.
seems like the forum is a little light on info......hints at the front of the chassis not suitable to fix to?
any one got a suggestion as to where they can be bolted ? what forces you can expect when pulling out of mud ? I currently have a 5 ton strop, 3 ton shackle and ........... ( now not decided) to bolt to chassis will 3 ton do or is that underestimating

Many people use a bridle strop across the two chassis rails with ora recovery points that way you spread the weight
