Not towing it is some thing to do with the t box and it being 4wd but if its been tryed and tested by othere with no problem then its up to the owner

You're right markyp2000 :) There's a lot of bits of well meaning advice on forums much of which is based on opinions, and what has been read and repeated from elsewhere - very little that can be relied on as fact. Even manufacturers can ere on the cautious side to avoid problems from customers at a later date. Some warnings related to bearings, some to transfer boxes, some to transfer casings others to gearboxes.....

I did a lot of research into this and am no stranger to 4x4s, gearboxes and other mechanicals, mind you I'm not claiming to be some sort of expert either. The advice I chose to take was from those who have actually been there and done that.

Now it may be that I'll be back on here at some later date reporting a problem some miles down the road, then it will be results based on my own experience

I'll be older and wiser if that happens :)

The SJ used to be tugged along by a number of folks. I looked into this when I was going to move house years ago but in the end I bought a short trailer for it. Someone had made it out of caravan chassis especially for the SJ.

Hi helijohn, a trailer of some sorts was one of the considered options for taking a car along with a motorhome on travels. The problem was that of storage when not needed - hence the decision to go down the a-frame route, which simply folds and stores in one of the motorhome's lockers.

Yes, totally agree. Even a short trailer can be a nuisance.
