Recently bought my 2003 Jimny to tow behind my motorhome, which gives us a car to use whenever we are in the UK . Most of each year we are either touring around Europe or house based in Spain.
We use an a-frame from Towtal which allows the car to brake proportionally to the motorhome to comply with regulation changes that are due to come into force after 2014.
Anyway, the Jimny is great so far and although its mostly going to be used on-road I'm looking forward to getting back to our Spanish house later in the year and getting up into our local mountains. We use an ageing Isuzu Bighorn out there so it will be interesting to compare their abilities
Since buying the car I've changed the graphics and tinted the rear windows
Very tempted by some of the Jinmys on here to start modifying but will be keeping it fairly standard for the time being.

Nice jimny, although should you be towing it? theres something in the handbook and door where the tyre pressures are, about not towing it?

I did quite a bit of research before deciding that a Jimny would be suitable and the conclusion was that so long as it was pre 2004 and manual 4 wheel drive selection it is fine for flat towing. This has been reinforced by several motorhomers who have some years of experience.
The owners of Towtal towed a Jimny for several years themselves and raved about it. So I'm quietly confident

I don't understand what damage this could cause? how is towing it any different to coasting down a hill for example?

Towing with an a-frame the car becomes recognised as a trailer.
A trailer must be braked if over 750k
A jimny curb is 1030kg
How have you hooked you brakes up?
This is the reason you see many motor homes pulling Toyota IQ's as they weigh next to nothing
