Expedition Jimny Project

Watching this one closely with interest as having a expedition style 4x4 is what I wanted from the outset just not had the money!

I have been very weary with roof racks as having a 3 inch lifted jimny I didn't want it to be top heavy and prone to falling over

Sticking a tent on the top would scare the $hit out of me! haha but hey ho :woohoo:

Good work so far though!

I must admit, it had me worried a little as the wheelbase is so short and the track so narrow. :blink:

Trial fitted the tent tonight :-

If you have some low down weight it should be ok

Started getting the roof tent ready

Washed it all down with Fabsil special cleaner ready for plenty of Fabsil gold re-proofing solution. All being well, tent on the roof this week and off for a couple of nights camping on Friday :woohoo:

A little bit of an update, I have fabricated the brackets for the Terrain 2 mtr awning and fitted the tent to the roof rack. I had a little issue with the awning as its designed to bolt to flat bar rather than round bar..

For those that asked at the start of this, the Jimny behaves very well this this lot upstairs, no bad rolling into the corners so a major result for me :woohoo:

Just got the Rotopax fuel cans to fit and a the BBQ griddle which goes over the spare wheel and holidays here we come..

Where did you get the awning looks brilliant!
