JerseyJimny wrote: Isn't that a body lift? But as long as you don't go for a 3 inch lift kit you won't need brake lines with 2 inch its not required but advised

Personally if you have the money I would tho for a +2 inch spring and shock lift kit

No thats is spring spaces and shock spacers

Yes a little but with all the weight you have on the roof it might feel better than with the standard spring you have now.

Cool, thats more for the shopping list ..

Will post some pics when fitted as well as the sides for the side awning.. :woohoo:

I had a Defender owner comment on it today saying "why the hell would you do all that to a Jimny" my reply was "Cos I aint daft enough to waste my money doin it to a Landrover"

haha +1 I work with too die hard Land Rover Owners (they have at least two each) and I get it consently at work even though I bought the jim from one of them!

All I say is at least I am not repairing it all the time and most of the time the jim is getting places LR are struggling to get

It really wipes the look off their face I can tell you that!

My side awning panels arrived this morning allowing me to have a complete sealed in sitting area. Cracking piece of kit with 2 windows and 1 door. All the openings are equipped with mossy net to keep the bugs out..

I dry fitted it today but didnt peg it all down, it was to give you chaps an idea of the finished awning..

I am one happy DW and cant wait to test it out on my next camping trip..

Just need to send the old girl into the garage for track rods and king pin bearings on monday and my expedition trip is getting closer :woohoo:

I am looking to go with either of these companies

Lost World Adventures

Land Trek Adventures

A bit of useful info for those who like a brew whilst laning etc.

If you have never seen one before take a look at the Kelly Kettle, I bought one after a chap told me about them and used it camping last week. No need for explosive gas cylinders or gas cookers with this bad boy. I was advised to collect pine cones and use them. Simply fill the kettle with water, chuck a bit of tinder and sticks or pine cones in the base and light it. In only 4 mins you have boiling water, you can also cook on it if you buy the whole package.

Not the cheapest thing in the world but well worth the money, mine is staying in the Jim at all times from now on.

They are available in different sizes and either S/Steel or Aluminium
