Cheers Guys

Cant wait to get the tent on top a soon as I have finished re-waterproofing it. Keep your eyes on here as I am also having a small light bar made for the bumper to take a couple of spots ;)

Just ordered new Rotopax fuel cans to fit on the spare wheel complete with lockable mounting bracket

The bracket will fit on the 3 wheel mounting bolts then the fuel cans sit over the bracket and lock in place

The Basic Rack was £250 inc powder coating, any bits like spotlamp tabs, CB antenna tabs and powder coated wire mesh base for the front section were extra.

It was close to £300 when fitted. Obviously its better to ask Matt at MCB for a better idea as each custom one will be a different price.

The RotoPax Fuel Tanks were £140.00 for the pair, the mount kit was £49.50 and the extension to hold both tanks was £27.50

The rack price seems really keen! Does it mount to the original mount points of the roof rails?

Them fuel carriers are a bit spendy though

Dont want to spoil the party as all the extras look great but what about the legality in this country, petrol carriers on the spare wheel carrier?,the weight of the roofrack before its loaded with gear might be ok but my lightweight rack can only carry 2,1/2 stone to keep within the law although on other vehicles it can carry far more.Fill the inside of the car plus passengers plus rack and goods plus petrol cans and the road traffic commissioners are going to have a field day.

Yes it mounts direct on the original roof rail mounting bolts

The fuel tanks are stupidly expensive but very very strong and compact.

The cans on the roof are empty and only to be used for collecting water for the overnight stay etc. The roof tent and rack keep it within the regs I have been told, but i will have remove all the back seats etc to lower the weight to carry the normal camping gear. It will be carrying far less than an expedition Landy for sure, i spent a while looking round a few finished Overlanders and they are crammed with gear both inside and on the roof, I did question this myself.

When you mean your light weight rack are you referring to the roof rails plus clip on cross bars??

As long as it dont look over loaded pc plod wont look at it i had 4 adults sitting on mine with no problem

If i was to make another on i wouldnt make it for any less than £250 and as with any thing that is home made there is room for improvment and i would change it slightly
