Just had a read of this from start to finish & your Jimjam looks nice and a good bit of fun. It's a shame you're so restricted with Jersey, is it expensive to pop across to the mainland for a few days laning and camping?
The Lake District is great for lanes. You might want to invest in some rocksliders though!
If you want bigger tyres I would say the next logical step would be BFG Mud Terrains in 235/75/15 but would also say you will want a rocklobster transfer box by then, especially in the Lakes climbing over rocks. Otherwise you'll be giving your clutch a hard time and will stall a lot if you don't slip the clutch alot.

Cheers Kirky
Well your looking around 350 for the boat the a about 50 - 80 for fuel then if your camping it looks like around 80 ish for two people for a week then as I have no clue where any lanes are when we go over we hire a lane guide which is around 50 per vechicle so you can see how it adds up!
Rocksliders are deffently on the list! But more of a winter project as I won't be doing any laning in France and not planning a trip after France till next year
That's exactly the size I was looking at but I thought I could get away with out a Tran box? Maybe not...
That another bloddy heavy thing to get shipped to Jersey! Great! Haha

£350 to get from Jersey to the mainland on the ferry? Was that a typo?
You don't need a guide in the UK Mainland, just a few OS maps!
Get subscribed to Total Offroad as they have roadbooks every month & I think you might be able to download old ones online for a small sum. Also Land Rover Owner International (LRO) do routes each month so check their website.
otherwise try to hook up with people over here in clubs. Kent has active clubs I think and there are kentish members on here who've been out laning together.

Haha afraid not... It's cost me 285 for France... That's x2 adults and x1 jacked up jimny
There is only one ferry company that operates car ferries inbetween the islands so they charge what they want really
My only worry is getting stuck as I have no means of self recovery atm and tbh possibly won't for a while otherwise I would give some of the lanes ago with a roadmap
I would like to keep to the light lanes due to all the kit on the roof the other half likes the views that these ones have offer as she dosnt enjoy getting thrown around too much
But I do like the idea of meeting up with a jimny group somewhere during my travels we shall see closer to the time

Oh right, I thought you meant to mainland UK!
There are some lovely views on UK Lanes don't forget - Kent is the Garden of England let's not forget!
If you go out with a group on the mainland you don't have to worry about getting stuck as the others will get you un-stuck!
Unfortunately I don't get out laning much these days but that needs to change!
