if you're keeping the standard bumper have a look at the ORA winch mount - theres full fitting instructions on the website to peruse

Thanks darthloachie however I want to retain the recovery points I have so once I get the winch I will see what the best way to mount it wil be and weld in some form of tray between the chassis legs or come off the existing bar I have.

According to Rob at ORA (im sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong) - their hidden winch mount is compatable with their recovery points. Have a look at their site and the fitting docs for the mount it shows how its fitted and chances are you can keep the recovery points. I'm sending Rob the measurements this week to enable him to make me a custom set of recovery points that will bolt through my A-bar - that way i can have the A-bar and recovery points and in future order the winch mount whilst keeping the standard bumper ;)

I had been undecided over the past week but after a shit couple of weeks at work I decided whats the point in working so hard if you cant treat yourself now and then :P It should arrive tomorrow or Thursday then I need to work out the best way to mount it. So nudge bar will be up for sale by the weekend, if anyone is interested drop me a PM with an offer.

What winch did you get ?

Thanks mate but the recovery points I have are a home made job and I would like to retain them, it won't be hard to fab something stable up, can get it all tacked n place then will get my mate to weld it properly. I have been thinking about getting rid of the nudge bar for some time but could not decide if I preferred it on or off, the winch is a deal breaker :)

Tom I went for a winch-it yeti 12500lb in the end, it's a bit of a budget option but I have heard good feedback from a few local people using the 13000lb version and this has a slightly higher HP motor and faster line speed than that. It should be fine for what I need it for anyway.

I will post some more details when I get a chance.

LOL  I checked the dimentions and it is actually about the same size as a few of the 9000lb winches I found, not sure about the weight however seeing as i dont plan on having a full winch bumper i hope it will be ok. Fingers crossed :) . I think with alot of these cheaper winches they just change the gearing to make it 12500lb etc,

darthloachie I had been thinking about the winchmax following your previous posts on other topics but the winch-it at 12500lb has a faster pull speed so thought I would give it a try.

looking at the yeti winch on the winch-it website looks to be basically the same winch but black instead of orange
