Great idea about the cabinets... If I may, I would copy that idea. It is annoying and dangerous having things jumping around inside the car during the trail. The cabinet instead gives an outstanding look while saving you time to organize recovery kit and tools stuff.
Yeh beauty of it is, it would take 5min to take the camera off.
I got it to help the girlfriend back the boat trailer when we are loading the boat.
as for the draws, go for it that's what I posted it for. I incorporated my 2nd battery into mine but you could always make 2 smaller draws or 1 big one.
let me know if you want any more details on it.
I did it properly so materials cost me about $250 but it was worth every penny!

Killed both rear wheel bearings
Also got a new toy before Christmas, 50L Ironman Fridge ( need to build a slide now )
Also added in extra 12v sockets into my draw system
Started installing a flexi light for finding gear in the dark
Installed a LED Interior Light
Finished my Flexi Light
Found a use for some neoprene netbook covers
Got an iPad with Hema Maps
Installed a LED light on the tailgate for when I have my rear tent setup so I can have light.

When i had the stock alloys and 3" lift I could notice it.
Now I have wider offset rims it's more stable.
On that trip above, we was on a couple hairy angles.
