2004 jimny m13a TDC and crank pulley removal.
A repairer stated they aren't glued together, but it's separated at each end.
Do you know if there is recommended gasket kit.
I've worked on V8s in the past, but this jimny is a whole new game.

Re. your earlier comments on the timing I hadn't realised you were taking the engine apart. When putting it back together there are markings on the timing chain that help greatly

The gasket looks a bit suspect to me.
Discovered needed to remove cams to remove head.
I noticed when removing cam caps the cams moved slightly away from the marks.
Is that anything to be concerned about?

Yes you need to remove the cams. Observe the numbers on the cam caps and make sure they go back in the same place.
As the engine has overheated I'd recommend getting the head skimmed while it's off. It's usually less than £100 and worth it for peace of mind. They will also test it for any cracks, although that's not usually a problem for these engines. The shim buckets on the valves will need to come out, keep track of which bucket goes on which valve and make sure the shims stay with them as the valve clearances are all individually set.
The block is unlikely to have warped. Carefully scrape any lumpy bits off the top of the liners with a Stanley blade then clean the block surface with a gentle abrasive like a scotch brite pad.

Also been searching my manual for the name of 3 O ring seals on the timing chain cover.

I had too remove the cams to get the head off, unfortunately I had a hiccup as I placed the head on my bench, I tipped the head over and some of the shim caps dislodged, and fell on the bench, unsure if I put them back in the same place. Deal with that later. Wasn't thinking about that at the time, hopefully not a major drama. Have done shims on a motorcycle.
Straight edge and feeler gauge used on block and, couldn't get .0015 inch under. On the head up to .oo4 inch so shiming most likely...
can anyone assist pls, as at least 1 is split.
TIA
Kappy
