I wonder if @TrondK has been here lately.
The build threads covering several years and many repair processes that @yakuza has posted are also useful references for Gen3 rust repair, if you haven't seen those already.
I am now marking my calendar for doing these repairs on my Gen4, it appears that around 2042 or so I should expect to have some rust to deal with.

Thanks for quick reply.
This is the final part of the welding repairs left, I started with all the other areas. Yes I am aware of Yakuzas thread although my repairs were more focussed around the inner rocker panels/sills and rear boot panel.
Well as long as you seal your Gen 4 properly you shouldn't ever have any rust issues really.

Well, lately my repairs have also been focused on the inner sills, rear boot panel, and even frame brackets.
I might suddenly post some pictures in the "myjimny" thread.

@yakuza any thoughts on my previous queries in the original post?
Will get a thread going tonight of my refurbishment project to share the odyssey 😂
Needless to say it's been a lot more work than expected but I've learn a lot and considering I had never welded before I suppose that is to be expected.
These Jimny's are world class at rusting, you've go to give them that haha

I have Dinitrol'd the hell out of it, so fingers crossed I suppose. I will report status to the forum here in late 2041.
Looking forward to your threads on your repairs. I think that kind of reportage is extremely helpful to have here on the forum.

Decided to go with my initial approach which worked surprisingly smoothly.
Stacked 3 pallets in front of the rear of the car and then added some timber to get a platform that was level with the tow bar attachment. That way I could place the jack onto the tow bar whilst applying pressure and essentially prized apart the frame from chassis. Anyway here are few pics of current status.
