The pipe you bought has the elbow in it, suitable for a backbox without elbow.
The pipe they say you need doesn't have an elbow so fits the backbox which has the elbow in it.
My backbox from the same year has the elbow in it, so I need the first pipe. However, my backbox is rotting and CATS2U do a backbox in 409 stainless steel, but it doesn't have the elbow, so I will have to go for the more expensive pipe. See link for backbox with no elbow
www.cats2u.co.uk/suzuki/37585-suzuki-jim...st-box-silencer.html
It's easy to check which yours needs, just look under the back, if the pipe coming out from the backbox has an elbow in it before the flange then you need the first pipe.
=======================================================
This was my shopping list to replace the whole lot in 409 stainless (backbox with no elbow). I haven't done it yet, I am hoping the old exhaust lasts to the spring when the weather will be better and I have more time.

PS I am leaning towards BM Catalysts parts from 'Parts in Motion' I used BM Catalysts for CATs on my other vehicle, shipped by Parts in Motion, they ship quickly and liked the quality of the BM parts.
Plus they are a UK company and their products are type appproved.

Mine would need the straight pipe as my backbox has the elbow in it, funny that it is more expensive as it must be longer.
Except it is my backbox which is on the way out and CAT2U have a 409 stainless steel box which uses the elbow pipe so I am going to wait until it goes.

As a follow up to this.
Suzuki, of course, only fit a whole system in the factory. Therefore it does not matter where in the system there are joints as long as the mounting points are the same. So you will find a mix of systems fitted
Various parts suppliers over the years, and various models (G13, M13, Soft top, VVT etc.) mean that variants of the exhaust joint positions occur.
As a GENERALISATION, if you fit a whole exhaust system you can buy almost anything.
If you want to only replace a section then you have to get the correct length and correct joints to fit in with the rest of your system
