Hey there, new here, apologies in advance for any mistakes. i am seeking technical help!
My Jimny requires a new exhaust pipe to connect from the back box, forward towards the manifold. thinking i had the right part, i ordered a piece from CATS2U, however, they got back to me saying i should check and see if i had the right part and gave me the option of a different, slightly more expensive part. I have not idea which one i need, apart from shape, the only disserning factors i can see is that the pipe i ordered is for 1998 - 2012 models, and the one they are suggesting is for 2005 and onwards. i'll include links below.
I have a Jimny 1.3 VVT SZ3 3d 2011.
Any help or guidence would be greatly appreciated, this is a new project for me, first proper car!
Thanks, Munro.

I looked in to this as my exhaust back box is on the way out.
The exhaust comprises four parts, the manifold and 1st CAT, the second CAT (in a pipe), then a connecting pipe and finally the ack box.
There are two different back boxes, one with a joint that comes straight out and another that has an elbow. These match up with the intermediate pipe, either with an elbow or straight.
So you have to get the connecting pipe to match the back box.
The connecting pipe joints to the second CAT pipe, there might be some slight differences in the spring loaded flange and again where the second CAT mounts to the manifold pipe.
The only way to tell is to have a look underneath, possibly photo the three joints and then match them up on the website. Or just do what I might do, replace all four parts.
I have photos and part numbers for my 2011, I can post tomorrow?

Hey Robin,
Thanks for that, its really useful information. I'll try and get some photos of the underside sent to me as im not currently with the jeep. Hopefully from that i can work it out.
I see what you mean, from one of the pictures it definitly seems to have an almost 90 degree curve before the back box connection, im guessing the side of the pipe with the brace arm connects to the first CAT pipe?
Would be nice to see comparable photos of your jimny too?
Thanks and all the best,
Munro.

I'm sure Martin is probably the best person to answer this but I'm pretty sure the flange that bolts to the rear section is slightly different on convertibles (which usually have the G13BB engine)
Based on that the slightly dearer one is the one you need. As yours is a VVT I assume its a tin top rather than a convertible.

Hey,
Yeah it is a tin top 3 door, does that mean the less angled connection is the way to go?
Thanks,
Munro.

Stick your head under the back of the car and you will soon see which one you need.
