I would be careful. The JB74 changed back to a manual system, the VVT was electronic. I am not saying they don't fit, just be aware of the change. Looking at the part numbers between the standard VVT box and a JB74 box, the majority of the gears/shafts are identical. A couple of the parts (e.g input shaft) have a single final digit change (e.g 0 to 1) which in my experience is a minor revision change that can just be a different supplier.crash486 wrote: I've heard that these fit the jb74 but not seen anyone fit them as yet.

The parts that "connect" the electronic actuator to the "gears" are the clutch sleeves, these appear to be the same. So it does look on paper to be probably compatible if the minor part number revisions are just minor, not consequential, changes.
As a cross refer to the Suzuki parts list, looks like in that kit you get:
Suzuki Part 5 - identical between VVT and JB74
Suzuki Part 10 - 29232-76J11 becomes 29232-76J12
Suzuki Part 4 - identical
Suzuki Part 7 - 29111-84A00 becomes 29111-84A01
Suzuki Part 18 - Speedo drive - varies (probably due to different final drive ratio and tyres.

And Suzuki tends not to re-invent everything on a new model.
But then again assumption is the mother of all #¤%!-ups..

Martin, have you been able to confirm what the actual final drive ratios are? What has been published doesn't make any sense.

I know some (i'm one of them) change diff gear ratio, 4.56 4.88 5.38.....a big change in hi range gear but nobody make or try something for low range.
Have you changed the diff gearing on a Gen4? If so what was the ratio of the original, and was it a manual or auto?

volpin wrote: Mine is manual, original was 4.09, i change to 4.56 and i run 31s
The 4.09, is that from the documentation, or was it actually calculated from the gears.
What has been published as the final drive doesn't make sense to me, because all the other ratios (gearbox/transmission and transfer) remain exactly the same for both manual and auto, as the gen3.
If it was true, the manual would be labouring along, while the auto would be screaming.
I had someone accidentally put 4.09 in my gen3 manual, it wasn't a great drive with bigger tyres.

????
According to the global suzuki site transfer is 1.000 and 2.002 for manual and 1.320 and 2.644 for the auto

Which is completely opposite of the Gen 3.
