Rereading your initial entry it might be a electrical wiring fault as opposed to a actual ABS components fault. Does your scanner have the facility to supply Live Data? If so connect it and select that and the abs page and try a drive and see what it comes up with. Good idea to have a helper either drive it or control the reader!
Thanks for your thought. We did what you suggested, but no fault detected. I had previously booked the car back into the garage for the 3rd time, to see if they could detect a fault. They did manage to stop the flashing light, but don't know how! I think I need to get it back there quickly for an MOT before the flashing starts again. Many thanks for your help and support.
Whilst driving with the reader on did the light stay on? What did they do the 3rd time in the garage? They must have done something if they asked you for payment surely?
