He told me that K Seal is a small investment that, by some car dealers, is put in into every car to stop small leaks and any small head gasket problems that might arise in the first year after they sell the car. Sounds probable to me, but some will scoff at the suggestion, especially secondhand car dealers :laugh:

Thanks for the plug helijohn. We make Bars Seals and Bars Flush and Bars Leaks! Glad you like itI can't be sure, but I have been led to believe that 'in the good old days' Land Rover used to put Bars products into all vehicles from new!
Reliants had it in and the handbook said to put it in when the coolant was drained!!
I started off high and worked my way down ever since

So did Jaguar, it was the only way to keep water in them for any length of time

I think the old gravity castings were pretty much all porous, like British bikes with oil.
Going to 20th century casting methods cured it.
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there
