standard diff ratio is 3.54-1 so not great like I said deffo need low ratio transfer box to run with theses

That's a bit rubbish for what you can save on transfer box mods you could spend on some decent ratio axles either way its the work in fitting them that is the killer anyone who thinks its easy well it isn't :( still stand by what I say just wouldn't fit landy to wide to heavy and no difflocks

your right about the amount of work involved I learned the hard way but well worth it in my opinion but if I had the cash I would have fitted 80 series axles

Yep anyone thinking about axle swops nothing fits all ends up being custom without good access to machine shop use and good welding skills then i wouldnt even consider it shame that there just isnt any bullet proof upgrades for jimny axles as beleive me would be the easiest route

What about the Rob Storr axles? Heard good reports about them being bulletproof.

I must say that I'm surprised that no one offers a decent axle upgrade/swap as a product as I think a lot of people would buy them!

Why even consider 80-series axles?

They're pretty wide, and much much heavier than jimny axles.

If you really want to go that route, get Nissan Patrol Y61 axles instead. Just as heavy, but with far stronger CV joints.

Both axles are overkill though.
I'd still consider Sammi-axles with Trailgear internals.

its all down to personal choice not everyone will have the same opinion

nothing wrong with wide or heavy axles

they are strong & have lockers front & rear as standard

Ha Ha yes mate disco 2 axles pretty much same as D1 bar the stud pattern however the D2 wheels fit in much closer IE dont stick out so far just would make it better for a jimny conversion as it keeps the width down :) but still Dog Sh!!e ratio :(
