You haven't got the abs actuator.

If you trace the pipe I have highlighted in pink, it should go right from the master cylinder at the left, to the passenger front wheel at the right (rubber hose under wing), without passing through an actuator.

ABS actuator has 5 brake pipes and an electric motor.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

As you've shown me yours, I'll show you mine

black box is the alarm, fitted where the actuator would be

Pipe goes to front wheel

Pipe goes to master cylinder

The flash really brings the rust out :(

Ha ha ah thanks for confirming this then facade I've been rather worries someone has tampered with is as it started life in Scotland and then I bought it off a little Romanian guy - ( say no more ) ha ha especially as the first thing he said to me is "I don't sell dodgy cars" ha ha

Well that's cleared that up then - thank you so much for your time helping with this!

You will agree and understand hen I say the breaks are shit! In the wet!
I think I might have also over inflated the tyres to get more miles per gallon but in the process in advertantly made the road road contact smaller hence the skidding in the wet!
I'll nip down the garage now and let them down a bit I think I did them up to 31 on the front and looking inside the door I've just noticed it says 24psi oops!

Seems you would be the man to ask as you share my love for the same car do you know where I can get some brake calliper clips as the 1st mechanic fixed my brakes when I bought it and put new pads in, but in the process he has removed two of the calliper clips which hold the pads in so now it's only held in with one per side and the bloody pads rattle every time I go over a bump!!?

Thanks for all of your help!

Try the Bigjimny shop for the spring clips(link on the home page) - you want a brake pad fitting kit.
