Stripped the captive nut in my front panhard rod

Its the front mount on the axle, so looking at the car from the front its right

But yeah its a shame you live so far away,

I am sorry I couldn't help, maybe if we had more time we could have sorted it. I have had a look at it and see the problem. There is no way to use a nut and bolt without removing the captive nut and that is not going to be possible unless you cut away some of the bracket to access it. It can be done however it will take some time.

If you want to tag along and no one has a front seat spare but can get a ride up in the back you're welcome to jump in with me.

cars sitting on my drive till saturday now!

he managed to get a nut in but had to grind it down a fair bit to fit between the captive nut and the curve of the axle,

all held up well on the drive home so seems promising
