Severe vibration 1800 to 2200 rpm

I've just bought a Jimny, bit of a giggle I must say.

BUT

I have these vibrations (which I didnt pick up when test driving as I was giving it the beans). Its a '99 with the older engine. 3rd, 4th and 5th 1700-2100 rpm when on part or full throttle it vibrates like crazy. When held at this engine speed in neutral it is absolutely smooth. The engine mounts appear to be ok (hard to properly check the rear without removing). I suspected a bad mount so strapped the engine to the chassis with a ratchet strap to see if it moved the resonant frequency but no change at all.
The previous owner had a new clutch fitted (blue print item) new timing belt, also the driveshaft between g box and t box looks fairly new.

Reading previous posts this doesnt seem unique. I figure it could be clutch, hard engine mounts or the crank pulley (which I believe has a bonded rubber section. Has anyone got any further with a solution, before I go for the clutch change - probably the cheapest and most time consuming ?

I have not removed my clutch to see if the vibrations disappear, but i did get the vibration when going from a 4 spring clutch to a three spring clutch.
I have the newer m-type engine (actually M16..) but the clutch and flywheel is the same. (it's the same clutch from 1984 to 2017 i guess)
But otherwise it is thesame on my car, vibrations only when on load/clutch out, 1800-2200 mostly at 2000rpm.
Edit: cannot find anything wrong with any of my mounts either.

Very tempting to change the clutch to see if it changes, but as you say, time consuming and i do not have a lift..

Norway 2005 Jimny M16A VVT, 235 BFG MT, 2" Trailmaster, ARB rear lck, 17%/87% high/low gears.

Was this problem ever resolved? As I have the same problem on similar circumstances ie Jimmy with severe resonance 2800 to 2200rpm 3,4,5 gear after gearbox refurbished.

Yes the gearbox refurbished and clutch replaced. Then the problem and gearbox removed and rechecked and another new clutch fitted.Then rear engine/gearbox mount replaced. Problem still there!!

No,..almost gone....but almost all these vibration issues appear after removal of the gearbox....
I have replaced the whole gear train...GB, TC, diff, shafts and so on....but only when I replaced the 6 or 4 spring clutch by an original SGP 3 spring clutch i noticed great improvement...
What makes the vibration worse is the backdoor support and the rubber thing you can screw in or out. If those things are allright...only the mirror vibrates a little
