6 hours broken down should i be worried ?
Whilst the Jimny engines (both G13 and M13) will give a long and reliable life, they will only do this if they have regular oil changes with a quality oil. Don't let the oil get at all gunky as the oil ways will block and the engine will die. Regular oil changes are a worthwhile investment for Jimnys.

When you say regular, do you mean more regular than the official schedule?

The problem is that Suzuki 4x4 owners (Jimny, SJ etc.) tend to like to do things cheaply

Ah, perhaps it is kaput then cos the bit of bearing has to have come from somewhere which means it ain't where it ought to be, so something is badly wrong and won't last long! Also, what other bits of bearing are in there and what damage have they done.
Still give a try but I am beginning to think it's a dead cert kaput engine! My optimism has wained!
