Flex-Plate keeps unbolting itself? was created by X-Eng Simon
I''ve put a Vitara Auto Box on a G Series Jimny Engine using the Vit Flex Plate.

It ran OK for a while, then started making a clattering noise which tracked down to the flex plate bolts being loose (where they screw in to the crank shaft).

Two weeks ago, I took the engine out replaced the bolts, tightened them as specified in the service manual and used LocTite thread-lock.

However, after one outing - they have come undone again! This is somewhat aggravating!

Has anyone heard of this being a problem? Is there a solution?

I guess I could cross-dril the bolts and wire them - but I would rather find out why it's happening in case it's a symptom of something else!

Thanks in advance,

Si

Something not lined up or you could weld them on

Thanks for the Nord-Lock tip - I'll give it a go!
What I'm wondering though is, what is causing it in the first place! The alignment appears to be good - I can't see any obvious reason for the problem!
