Has anyone fitted 33inch tyres to a jimny?
I'm thinking a4 inch spring lift and a fair amount of arch trimming.

Quite a few have fitted 33" tyres, yes 4" spring lift will work with some trimming, also a bodylift will help gain more arch clearance.
Have you considered a 6.5:1 ratio transferbox to turn these? Maybe also uprated halfshafts?

I take it that would mean a rocklobster at that ratio? Haven't looked into the gearing yet.
Not too keen on body lifts so I'll probably see how it goes with the 4 inch lift and trimming to begin with.

The 6.5:1 is a new gearset within a SJ case, not a rocklobster 4.16 which is generally a cut n shut.
Rockwatt on this forum is the best man to talk gearing.

The jimny axles are not suitable for 33''.

The limit is 31'' if you dont wont to break all the time.

If you want to do off-road stay on 31''. If you want it for show on street and do no off-road put 33''.

Im aiming to put my jim on 33s in the next couple of months, i know gearings going to have to change and ill properly shatterer a CV or 2, but driving around here and the local play days who ever has the biggest tyres wins!! I find myself just grinding to a holt where some guy in a bloody disco thingy has gone through with nothing more than 33s

Now i know we are blessed with such a small and nimble offroader and some times we can pick and choose a line, but sometimes you have to follow the ruts :( Plus with all the gearing and bigger tyres shorely i can go at my own pace through obsticles to presevre our cheese CVs

Thats my 2ps worth :)
