No I didn't just have a weird urge to fit a drop pitman arm Paul. I was recommended to fit it after discussions with Russ of Jimnybits when I mentioned I had a 2'' bodylift and 4.5'' springlift and 33'' wheels, upon reflection we thought it may help alleviate having acute angles in the steering system and I thought perhaps Russ might know what it was meant for!
As for my suggestion to fit this part in this instance, I figured that with a combination of 2'' bodylift and 3'' springlift it might be an option. If he's concerned about it I suppose he could always drop a line to Jimnybits.

I didn't mean to offend anyone, sorry Smoggy! But that's what many people seem to be doing.Smoggy wrote: People just seem to have some weird urge to bolt every aftermarket part onto their trucks without even knowing what they are meant for...

Russ might or might not know what he said to you, but did you drive your truck with the lift and stock pitman arm? I don't think it makes any difference whatsoever considering we are talking about coil sprung trucks. It might even make things worse, because the optimal setup on three link front suspension is to have the drag link to run as parallel as possible with the panhard rod. It's a lot different ball game with leaf sprung trucks with big lifts without a panhard rod, so that's where those dropped arms are meant for. But then again, what do I know.

With a standard jimny transferbox and 2" bodylift I just bent the lever slightly with serious heat.
With the Rocklobster I have now that was a little more tricky.

It's the body lift that you have to extend it for, not the suspension lift.JimnyX19 wrote: With transfer box lever will I only havE to extend it a 1" if I go 3" susp lift or will I get away with that if I have a 2" susp lift
