Crankshaft sensor
jonesyba420 wrote: I have this same issue but seem to get conflicting information, is the crankshaft sensor the one at the front of the engine or the one under the alternator? i have a 2002 jimny the DOHC one with both the camshaft and crankshaft sensors. i believe from reading other people issues that i need the crankshaft sensor.
Front of the engine is the cam sensor (reads the cam shafts position)
Similarly the one near the alty is the crank sensor (reads crank position)

It can get really frustrating when you can't work it out.

Quick questions - where did you get your crankshaft sensor, what was the OEM part no (I've looked it up as 33220-76G11) and how much was it?
Thanks in advance,

I would like to ask you something, please. If I replace the sensor, will the orange engine light comes back to normal (off) or is it necessary to be reset using an OBD2 device? I am not a mechanic and maybe this is a silly question but I like to be sure that my Jimny will be fine.
If you have any advice, it would be more than welcome.
Sorry for my English and thanks a lot!
Cristian.

Otherwise it sounds like a fuel/air issue. Clean the idle control valve, crankcase pressure valve (on top, beside the rocker cover), check the air filter. Low on fuel?
