May be the O2 sensor on its way out. My engine light would come on when the Jimny was idiling for any length of time and then go out after a bit of a drive. Reversing at low speeds/revs may be creating the same effect. I could reset it but each time the Jimny sat for a short while it would relight and each time it took less time to set it off.
