235/75/15 on a VVT was created by Black Toy
Hi guys,
I hope anybody can help me out. I'm trying to decide tires. First of all i've decided for mud tyres (think i'll regret latter if i fit All Terrains) and the BFG 215/75/15 km2 are really hard to find...
Other options are: BFG 235/75/15 km2 and Kumho 235/75/15 kl71 (same price here).
My Jimny is a VVT, but with the old model bumper. I got plenty of bits to lift it enough. Maybe 3" or 3.5".
I'm actually concerned about:
1. Fuel consumption;
2. Loss of power; and
3. Damaging my clutch.
It's a daily driver (10 to 20 km a day), used once a month in motorways and/or greenlanning. I'm not willing to fit a rock lobster any soon.
Anyone have something to share about that?
Thanks a lot

Imo they are to big for your needs , on road it will be worse on fuel and off road the gearing will suck
For good on road the kl71,s are great on and off road some 215,s might be a better option

Hi reaper,
Thanks for the input. Do you think is that bad?
I really don't mind loosing a bit of power... I'm used to drive 1.0 liter cars. As long as is not annoying...
How much will affect fuel consumption? Can i use 4wd-low for long periods offroad? My use is mostly expeditions and not very heavy offroad.
Just got a call from the tyres dealer and they are offering a bargain for the 235 BFG since they are not able to supply the 215.

To be honest i dont take much notice of fuel consumtion i just fill it up when it needs some
My tyres are close to the 235 and i live with it , on road its good enough and off road ....well i havent done anything extream so its bee good
But as we know even standard jims are suprisingly good offroad

Good to know! You don't have a rock lobster then?
Just curious about the use of low gearing for long periods since i'm a complete newbie in 4wheeling!
Thanks,
Thiago
