Diff oil leaking from my swivel's??????

Diff oil leaking from my swivel's?????? was created by Jamie
I am leaking diff oil from my swivel's but i only did my kingpin's
on the same side around 2 weeks ago. The oil is coming out nice and clean
not like the usual gunk around there.
I have checked my wheel bearing and there is zero play in them, i remember when i did my kingpins i cleaned up my cv joint and there
was a few rust spots on there and a very slight stiffness in the joint.
Also there is a slight "floating" feeling on the steering at about
55mph on the motorway, but i put this down to the Special Track's.
Any ideas anyone??
Thanks

Pressure build up (blocked breather)?
Bent halfshaft?
Bent axle case?
Incorrectly seated/split/worn oil seal?

I don't think it's shaft or axle related as I've not had tin 4x4 since I did
The kingpins, and it was leaking before I did the kingpins as that's what I thought it was!!!!
Everything tells me it's the wheel bearing but there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it!!
If the wheelbearing was gone would the half shaft be moving???? I just can't find any play in there!!!

As Martin says. Did you replace the oil seal and was it in right?
Were you rough with it when putting the half shaft back in?
You can't tell if they're worn by sight always so for the couple of quid they cost replace every time you take it apart or you have to do it all over again like now.
Did your king pins go in properly?
If one is slightly not knocked in properly it will have the same effect as a knackered bearing.

I put it all together right when I did it last time, but it was doing this before that's why I
Replaced the kingpins as I thought they had worn again!!
It's defiantly not an axle problem as it leaks in2wd and nothing at the front is turning apart from the wheelbearing, but the bearing has zero play in it, the cv joint however did feel very slightly stiff but I gave it a good clean and lube. I'm gonna pull it apart at the weekend see if there is anything obvious!!

Hi, Well the only place your going to get oil is your diff, so sounds like the little oil seal/s.
Have you been on any side slopes type terrain, also is it just one side it's coming from?
It's just a shame it's a big job just to do the seals at least there cheap

Did you replace the oil seal again? It's that that is leaking, the bearings being worn either now or before can be the cause of the seal leaking but you must replace the seal. As I have said, i replace mine every time I take the hub apart, they are cheap enough to do so, therefore I do.

Yes I did the oil seal when I replaced the kingpins last week...
Oil leaks normally come from the shaft moving around in the seal, not the seal itself which is why it is normally the knigpins or wheelbearing!!!!

The shaft is allowed to move by the play in the bearing and moves in the seal causing it to leak but if you'be replaced the seal and bearings I'm at a loss too, unless as others have suggested you have a blocked breather?
Sorry, I'm out of ideas.

I know!!! It's a tricky one this, I'm gonna pull
It to bits tomorrow, check it's not a "dodgy" seal
and perhaps put another new one in!!!
My breathers are ok first thing I checked, after
that I'm at a loss, it could be oil left in there before
that is still weeping out.....
Next inspection tomorrow!!!!
