yes, i'm in the same situation also.
and to be honest, i think changing transfer case, gearbox and diffs is too much trouble the lift.
different models don't change all that and climb 34-35 inch tyres, and to change all that for what, 29 or 30 inch :woohoo: i'll sell the damned thing and buy a samurai:evil:

seriously, for the moment, that kit, with all its bad reputation, is the cheapest and easiest solution.(but i'm still waiting for someone local to me to buy/try it, i'll not take any chances    )

Yeah, the Jimny t-case is garbage. Sammy t-case is the way to go!B)

There is no need to change the diffs ;) i only did it because it was all part of reducing my "freeway" RPM with the t-case gears.

The effort is worth it, you are removing 2 very weak drive components out of the jimny drive line by replacing them with a early model g-box and samurai transfer case. I have already killed a VVT jimny gear box in less than 20,000KM and the jimny t-case chain will eventually start to slip.

So you have to ask your self, is it worth the effort now or later?

I have already gone down the path of putting t-case gear's in the jimny transfer.....should of done the t-case conversion from the start ;)

Another option is to find a auto jimny t-case out of a VVT jimny and put that in your jimny. It will offer a 22% reduction in high ( 4100rpm on 235/75 tyres @ 100KPH/60 MPH), but once again your still left with that weak drive line link. :(

i dont understand one thing
why i need to change the gear box? what wrong with the jimny gear box?
i need to change only the transfer, no?
and if there's a kit for the transfer i can just put it and drive away. no? o_O

i dont want that it will cost me too much....

some one have a link where can i buy the kit for transfer?

are you sure about the 22 percent ?
because i have considered this solution, and from what i've found out the difference for auto t-case is more like 30 percent, which is way too much ....

and yes i need the diffs, because for me jimny is the only car for the moment, so i still need some road-going capability.

edit; my post is in response to monkey, but nivo has replied before me

nivo, you can change only the t-case, but apparently it is a big chance it will fail sooner or later. to put the 'indestructible' rocklobster, you need to change also at least the gearbox, as the ratios will not be suitable for driving on road
