New Wheels For Winter was created by Green
Im looking at getting a second set of wheels for my standard Jimny. I basically use it off road occasionally when I am out shooting and think a second set of wheels would be great for me to just rotate on and off with my road wheels. I also use it off roading casually with some mates.

Has anyone got any thoughts on good, cheapish (around £200-£300 for 4) wheels? Im happy to use remoulds as long as they are road legal to get to and from shooting. Bearing in mind that the wheels need to fit my STANDARD jimny...it hasnt got a mental lift and super wide arches for the biggest and chunkiest tyres possible! Or failing that, has any one reading this got anything they think sounds like what Im after hidden away in their shed that will never see the light of day again?

Thanks for the input in advance,
Andrew

Just watch eBay for a set of standard steel wheels local to you, pay about £10 a wheel.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

That's what I've been doing for a while. What about recommendations for rubber for the wheels? Tyres that will serve me well off road and across fields which fit on a standard Jimny but don't break the bank??

Hi,

I bought these only last weekend. My Jimny is over 6" higher than stock with massive flared arches and although for general driving they are ALOT better. They make my Jimny look stupid! And without proper spacers possibly dangerous.

£120 is what i paid so anyone can have them for that.

Sponnie where abouts are you? What make are they and details of tyre width etc?

Ooky - Ive been doing a bit of reading about using mud tyres for snow and apparently they aren't great...something about being mud tyres being self cleaning so they don't hold the snow. And apparently the best material to use for driving on snow is actually snow itself...uuuuuuuuhhhhhh! If that works?!
