Just be aware before taking it to bits the guide is for the pre ABS Jimny, I had a dirty great big ABS cog hanging off my hub which stopped me in my tracks
I think somebody has found a work around for it somewhere on the forum.

How do you stop water getting in the axle. Would that breather kit that Martin does stop it?

Only way to stop water getting in - avoid water...........................
Its a shockingly weak design and even road use can cause problems. Water sits in the bottom bearing and drys it out essentially. Every time i've changed mine the top has had negligible play but the bottom has been totally shot.
Best prevention clean it all out and regrease with the waterproof stuff martin sells or another stated waterproof grease. The breather kit is only if you intend to wade regularly, it stops the diff oil becoming contaminated with dirty water and you having to replace the oils so often.
