Heater Not Working

That must be a mahooosive inverter to run a fan heater!

Standard fan heaters are around 3000Watts, or perhaps 1000Watts on the lowest setting.

Only the most expensive inverters go much over 300Watts.

At 1000 Watts@240 volts it will be drawing around 4.5 Amps on the high voltage side. If the inverter was 100% efficient then on the 12 volt side it would have to draw 72Amps!

I think I would look at fixing the car heater.

Ha ha nice one yes didn't really think this through to be honest, i will just get a 12v car heater that you plug into the cigarette lighter socket and wear my army issue gloves. I have just spent this months pocket money on a new Champion winch so out goes the heater matrix.

Why do you think the matrix is gone?

Usually, they leak and you get wet feet and misty windscreens.

If no heat comes from it it is either airlocked or blocked up (or the flap that sends air through it isn't flapping: check the plastic levers are doing their stuff). A session with the hosepipe onto the heater spigots should help.

If it is definitely blocked, you can try radflush, but this usually results in a leaky radiator when it scours away the corrosion over the holes.

I would like to thank everyone for your help, Dirtydogz you were right, the plastic link had been knocked off, my heater is working fine now
