Hi Mcjimny, I think I would leave my towbar and back axle behind dragging 3500kgs

I've always had an image of one hooked up to a serious weight to tow and it just sitting spinning the wheels
I think its hilarious when i'm offroad and trying to recover someone and they just act as a land anchor and i'm just merrily spinning the wheels!
Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

I did my B+E about 10yrs ago, and I think everyone should have to do it, considering all the death trap accidents waiting to happen. Too many people overloading their towcar

I have a Tow Trust one and it's spot on! I got the ball & pin type coupling to aid in rescuing other cars and so far it's been great!
It was quite easy to fit the towbar itself but I had some help with the electrics.

I received my towbar today! and immediately want to adjust it
Is it allright to drill holes trough the "main beam" of the towbar? I want to attatch treaded bar M14? with eye-nuts at the end. They can stick through my rearbumper for use as recovery points

I would have thought that drilling holes in the main beam would compromise its structural strength, there is a possibility of stress fractures forming around the holes and causing a failure if you use it for serious towing, to be on the safe side I would contact a professional tow bar installer for advice. My Witter tow bar has already two holes in it that I can get a shackle in.
