Tranfer case conversion kit's was created by Monkey
Hi guy's,
My self and some other Australian jimny owner's, are wondering about these transfer conversion kits from off-road amoury and D&G tuning, what i would like to know if these kits suit the late model VVT jimny as they have different gear box, input shaft, transfer case and drive shaft's to the early model jimny's.
Why we want them is because then we could put a sierra/samurai t-case in for more gearing options.
Has anyone used one of these kits and done the conversion in a late model VVT jimny using one those kits?
Thanks in advance.
Andy

Yes you can fit these kits.
You have to do a quick re-wire to keep the flashing lights on the dashboard happy.
I know the UK VVTs to at least 2007 have the hole in the transmission tunnel required for the transfer lever blanked off so you can unbolt the plate and you have the correct hole.
You would probably want the console from an older Jimny to tidy up the edges of the hole neatly.

Oops - yes - the intermediate or jack shaft doesn't fit either.
You need to do a "cut n shut" to get the Jack Shaft to fit. I know one member here has done this ok and a prop shaft specialist was happy to do the cut and weld.
